About us

The history of our company began in the spring of 1991 when my parents conceived the idea of manufacturing safes. They started under very modest conditions, crafting safes literally on their knees. I still remember being a little boy, running around the workshop alongside its two employees, peeking around with curiosity.

Although our production was improvised in the beginning, my parents had a clear vision from the start — quality without compromise. Their commitment to this principle has definitely paid off.

We sold our 100th safe in just nine months. Our company’s name began to spread among customers, building a strong reputation. It didn’t take long before we secured a major contract with the Ministry of the Interior. This contract was a significant challenge for us, but we knew that if we succeeded, it would be a major step forward. As you read these words today, it’s clear that we did succeed.

By 1994, we had established a well-developed network of quality dealers in the Czech Republic. Over the following years, we served thousands of Czech customers, supplying our safes to leading retail companies, state institutions, and many households.

The turning point came in 1995 when we signed an exclusive representation agreement with the Dutch company De Raat. In the subsequent years, we supplied safes to several important European institutions, including the European Parliament.

We successfully built strong and stable business relationships with partners throughout Western Europe. After three decades in business, exports now account for a substantial portion of our sales. In 2001, we sold our 10,000th safe, largely thanks to our export customers.

In 2010, I took over the management of our company, and that year we also reached the impressive milestone of producing 40,000 safes.

I continue to uphold my parents’ vision, sharing their belief that a safe is an investment for a lifetime.

I understand that we cannot achieve this without honest work if we want to keep the CHARVÁT brand at the forefront of European safe manufacturers.

I strive to instill the philosophy of our family business in my sons so that when they eventually take over the management, they can continue to build on our traditional values. For now, however, they are more likely to be running around the production area (as I did years ago) and observing our experienced staff.
